Sutter North Offers Scholarships to Yuba College Students

Sutter North Medical Foundation, in conjunction with the Yuba College Foundation, is offering two students the opportunity to receive a $500 scholarship during the Fall 2002 semester.

The Sutter North Medical Foundation Scholarships serve to support students interested in careers in the allied health professions. Sutter North is a leading not-for-profit regional provider of comprehensive healthcare and supports these scholarships in recognition of existing and emerging professional staffing needs in this region's healthcare professions.

"We recognize the importance of encouraging students to select healthcare as a career choice. By offering financial support through the educational process we hope to increase the number of healthcare professional available in the Yuba-Sutter community," commented Julie Eckardt, Director of Community Relations at Sutter North.

To qualify, students must either be entering the LVN program or be in their second year of the Radiological Technology program. Candidates should be able to provide a record of good scholarship (3.0 grade point average), while demonstrating, as well, financial need through the formal Financial Aid application process.

To receive an application and verify qualification for consideration, interested students should contact the financial aide department at Yuba College. The deadline to submit an application for fall semester is April 2, 2002.
