Announcing the Opening of Yuba City's Medical Office Building and Surgery Center

|
April 21, 2005

One year and seven months after the purchase of 3.08 acres in Yuba City’s Town Center, Sutter North Medical Foundation announces the opening of a 60,000 square foot medical office building and ambulatory surgery center.
Located at 460 Plumas Blvd., the new facility brings together a variety of medical specialties including family practice, outpatient surgery, anesthesiology, pain management, podiatry, urology, dermatology, neurology, ophthalmology, allergy, audiology, and otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat).
Consolidating not only the providers in the new facility, the Medical Office Building and Surgery Center is located adjacent to Sutter North’s Diagnostic Outpatient Center, Procedure Center and Yuba City Medical Center, allowing for enhanced communication between physicians and increased access for patients.
"New and advanced technology, combined with more spacious and well-designed patient care areas will provide patients with greater convenience and comfort," said Dan Martinez, Board Chair of Sutter North Medical Foundation. "The expansion is part of our on-going commitment of meeting the needs of our developing community, and our mission to provide excellence in health care services.”
Unger Construction Co., who also built Sutter North’s Diagnostic Outpatient Center in 2001, was the general contractor of the new facility. With the help of architects Boulder Associates of Colorado and sub-contractors MHM, Inc. and Marysville’s Frank M. Booth, Inc, Unger constructed the building according to Yuba City’s redevelopment plans for the town center.
“Sutter North’s new Medical Office Building and Surgery Center meets all our design standards and is a great compliment to the other buildings in the Town Center,” said Denis Cook, Community Development director of Yuba City. “It will also bring many jobs downtown which will help our business district; it is all part of the big picture for the Town Center and Sutter North’s facilities fit perfectly.”
Sutter Health, Northern California's leading health care organizations, provided capital dollars to fund Sutter North’s $18 million project as part of their ongoing investment in the Yuba-Sutter community, which totals $47 million since Sutter North Medical Foundation’s affiliation in 1993. Prior to affiliation, Marysville Medical Group and Yuba Feather River Medical Group had a rich history of providing quality health care in the Yuba Sutter area dating back to 1938. After affiliating with Sutter Health, Sutter North Medical Foundation became one of more than two dozen not-for-profit health care providers in the Sutter North network.
Sutter North’s physicians will begin seeing patients in the new Medical Office Building in late April, and surgeries in the new building will begin in May 2005.
Sutter North Medical Foundation is a not-for-profit organization providing health care throughout the Yuba-Sutter community. Their mission is to enhance the health and well being of people in the communities they serve through compassion and excellence in health care services. With care centers in Brownsville, Wheatland, Loma Rica, Marysville and Yuba City, Sutter North Medical Foundation employs 385 employees. The Foundation provides support services for the 65 physicians of the Sutter North Medical Group.
Sutter North Medical Foundation is affiliated with Sutter Health; one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit networks of community based health care providers, delivering high quality care in more than 100 Northern California communities. Sutter Health supports more than two dozen locally run acute care hospitals and physician organizations, medical research facilities, physician and nurse education programs, and region-wide home health, hospice and occupational health services.
