Sutter North Medical Foundation announced the availability of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner Music Sound System during a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, July 22 in the organization’s imaging department. Thanks to the generosity of several Yuba-Sutter residents who made financial donations, Sutter North Medical Foundation recently purchased a music system for their Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner (MRI).
The musical system further enhances the link between technology and humanity available at Sutter North Medical Foundation.
The music system is designed to comfort patients during a MRI scan. Patients can listen to clear tranquil music and are thereby able to tune-out the sounds and environment of the closed in, often claustrophobic feeling of the machine. The music system provides stereo music, which is transmitted to the shielded MRI room electronically. The electronic impulses are converted to audio with exceptionally full bodied high quality sound. Patients have the opportunity to listen to their own pre-recorded cassette tapes and CD’s or to AM/FM stereo.
The MRI sound system is located in the Diagnostic and Outpatient Center at 440 Plumas Boulevard in the Yuba City Town Center.
