Hospice
Sutter North Hospice serves Yuba and Sutter Counties, as well as areas of Colusa and Butte County.
Sutter North Hospice began providing care in 2002 to expand the not-for-profit community healthcare mission of Sutter North Medical Foundation.
"Sutter North Hospice allows us to continue to meet the needs of the Yuba-Sutter area by providing a continuity of care through our Home Health Department," says David Yamamoto, Chief Executive Officer of Sutter North Medical Foundation.
Sutter North Home Health sees many patients who would benefit from hospice care. Some patients and their families were not able to access the comfort-oriented care and emotional support hospice programs offer befoe the creation of Sutter North Hospice, even with the two hospice programs that were already serving the community prior to 2002.
Sutter North believes that everyone is entitled to receive hospice care regardless of financial circumstances. Sutter North Hospice will be partially funded by the not-for-profit Sutter North Medical Foundation, private insurance billing, Medicare, memorial donations and fundraising activities. All gifts to Sutter North Medical Foundation and Sutter North Hospice are tax deductible.
The Sutter North Hospice team includes physician services, nursing services, home health aides, medical appliances and supplies, spiritual, dietary and other counseling, continuous care during crisis periods, trained volunteers and bereavement services. Sutter North Hospice offers the "something more" that can be done for patients and their families when illness cannot be cured.
